Prince Charles Thrilled to Welcome Second Grandchild
Prince Charles is delighted to once again become a grandfather. It’s a job that most grandparents happily admit they’d love to have had before their own kids, because there is just something so special about grandchildren. Prince Charles feels much the same way, speaking out Tuesday about his feelings toward having a second grandbaby.
The 65-year-old Prince attended a charity event in London and told his well-wishers and his fans that he is feeling wonderful about the news. “It’s wonderful. We are very happy. It’s splendid, very exciting,” he told his fans and those attending the charity event. The pregnancy of his daughter-in-law and his son is something the palace announced much earlier than the couple had originally intended, but were forced to do so because of the same reason they announced her pregnancy with Prince George earlier than expected.
The Duchess of Cambridge suffers from a condition called Hyperemesis Gravidarum, a condition in which women are exceptionally sick during their pregnancies. She is suffering from a largely exaggerated and much more severe type of morning sickness that most other expectant mothers suffer from when they are pregnant. Because of her situation, most people did not think that the Prince would speak of his daughter-in-law’s pregnancy, but he was happy to do so when he was offered congratulations by his well-wishers. He even went so far as telling one woman he didn’t do anything to deserve congratulations, as a joke.
Kate Middleton’s father-in-law was in good spirits while he attended the Prince’s Trust Project in South London, speaking jovially of his new role as grandfather for the second time. He has been very vocal about his happiness being a grandfather to Prince George, who is now 13-months-old, and he feels the same way about his soon-to-be grandchild. A due date for the Duchess has not been announced.
